1962 Selmer Paris Mark VI Tenor Saxophone – Serial #102327
Selmer Paris Mark VI Tenor Saxophone – Serial #102327
Offered by SaxMall
The world’s most revered saxophone is the Selmer Paris Mark VI Tenor Saxophone, and they’re getting more difficult to find as the year pass on. This original finish beauty has serial number 102327—placing its manufacture around 1962, a highly sought-after vintage period known for exceptional craftsmanship and tonal richness. This serial range is identical in design, and craftsmanship, as the most sought after 5 digit horns.
Though not perfect, this one is in very good condition and was maintained by the previous owner. This is a one owner instrument prior to us receiving it. Would recommend the new owner have a lite service done to set it up to their standard. Key heights are low and action is fast. These saxophones are so light and just resonate well. There is a reason Mark VIs are the best saxophones made and are played more frequently by professionals than any other saxophone. Will ship worldwide.

Condition Overview:
- • Pads: In good playing condition (pictured) not new, but fully functional, sealing well with plenty of life left.
- • Finish & Lacquer: Original lacquer with moderate wear consistent with age. About 80-85% original lacquer remains, a major plus for collectors and players alike. Engravings and logo are crisp. Key touches are clean.
- • Neck: Original neck in good condition, matching serial number to body. No damage or pull downs. Clean cork. Socket fits well in tenon.
- • Case: Comes with the original Selmer Tray Pack case, with Clarinet Case, structurally intact but showing cosmetic wear. The plastic outside shell does have a crack and missing piece of plastic. No heavy odor or stains. Seems like the sax was cleaned often before going back in the case.
- • Mouthpiece: Not included.
- • Body: shows a few minor repairs, tries to get detailed photos from several angles. I’ll do my best to describe what I found. Solder visible at the bell to bow brace. Soldered key guard above thumb hook. Some small dings in bow. Lacquer wear and tarnish / buildup on low D# tone hole. Solder on low c keyguard foot.
