The Vintage C.G. Conn Transitional 10M Tenor Saxophone – Serial #M266614 – hard to find!

For sale is an exceptionally rare and highly desirable C.G. Conn Transitional 10M tenor saxophone, serial number M266614. This places it in the early-to-mid 1930s transitional era (around 1934–1935), right at the pivotal shift from the New Wonder series to the iconic “Artist” or “Naked Lady” models that defined Conn’s golden age of saxophone production.

What makes this horn truly special and very rare:

Left-hand bell keys
Rolled tone holes – The premium feature from Conn’s pre-war era, providing superior tone hole sealing, enhanced projection, and that legendary big, fat, vintage Conn sound. These are far superior to the later straight tone holes found on post-war 10Ms.
Iconic “Naked Lady” engraving

This is a true transitional specimen bridging the New Wonder II and the full Artist/Naked Lady lineup – These early transitional 10Ms with this combination of features are seldom seen on the market and are prized for their playability, build quality, and historical value.

The horn retains its classic vintage Conn character: big, bold, dark tone with excellent projection and response – perfect for jazz, big band, rock, or any genre where you want that unmistakable vintage American saxophone voice.

Condition notes: saxophone is in very good condition overall for its age (manufactured over 90 years ago), but has a few things to point out. Had a resoldered neck arm. The neck doesn’t look pulled but the octave needed to be reattached. One foot of the Low D# keyguard is not attached. Pads look good. May need some light servicing, new neck cork, corks and felts, but the sax does play as is. Huge sound, takes a lot of air to play – typical of this model! Comes with older protective case which fits the sax well. See pics and please ask any questions.
