These saxophones are highly sought after and rarely come up for sale. Some unique characteristics of this horn are the amount of permagold finish still in tact – which is around 70% by our estimate. Rolled tone holes. Adjustment screws. Vintage case. Serial number seems to be 9696, though the second number could possibly be something else, but we feel it is a 6 based on the stamp. This is one of the rare Rev D models with Lemaire still on the logo, which was mostly discontinued on the Rev D according to SaxPics.

Pricing this one as is as a worthy project horn as it will need work to be gig ready. Our techs are currently backed up so offering this one for sale as is. Low B could use a new spring or tightening (slow action), needs some minor adjustments, corks, felts, etc. Side alt B key needs to be resoldered. Needs tone hole work on some of the keys. Pads are in decent condition – can still be used but will definitely benefit from overhaul within the next few years of regular playing. Minor dings throughout the saxophone, typical for the age of this instrument. Sold as is. Typically, these saxes will hold to any of the vintage big boys (Conn, Selmer, Buffet, King, Martin).
